![]() Team Canada at the Worlds By James McBeath, Ken Whiting and Kevin Varette 2001 Worlds Team Canada has put on a strong showing at every worlds to date. This year is no exception. To make the Canadian elite squad was a challenge for all, even the mainstays in Canadian playboating. The end result is the strongest field of freestylers ever to enter the world arena... remember Canada took 8 medals in 97... this year Canada has a stronger team! The jr teams will also rival the best. With key rivals being the US team, Canada engaged instructional guru Kevin Varette to help with preparations and training. The JR team, as a result has been training for a couple of years now and is probably the most prepared at the Worlds.
